This is a beautiful example of craspedacusta sowerbyi, a fresh water jellyfish. This particular individual, Goldilocks, was captured in a Bell jar by Molly Jessica Molokai while snorkeling in Marsh Creek Lake, near the village of Eagle, Pennsylvania in July, 2023.

 

Molly feeds Goldilocks once a day with a variety of live baby brine shrimp and dried plankton which she orders on-line from Jellyfishart.com.

 

Goldilocks’ water must be filtered, but ever so gently because her soft body could be sucked into a too-strong pump.
